<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive and thermosensitive recording material which is highly sensitive and moisture-resistant and almost free from a texture fog, and a method for reducing the texture fog on the pressure-sensitive and thermosensitive recording material. <P>SOLUTION: The pressure-sensitive and thermosensitive recording material has a color development layer which contains a microcapsule sealing a leuco system dye, a phenol developer and a sensitizer. The phenol developer is a condensation reaction product of a carboxylic acid ingredient (A) which contains a (poly) 4-hydroxybenzoic acid represented by formula (1) as an essential ingredient and a univalent carboxylic acid and/or a divalent carboxylic acid as arbitrary ingredients and a polyhydric alcohol ingredient (B)which contains a ≥trivalent polyhydric alcohol as an essential ingredient and a divalent low-molecular-weight alcohol as an arbitrary ingredient. The sensitizer is a fatty acid amide sensitizer, the mass ratio of the sensitizer to the phenol developer in the color development layer being 0.5 to 6.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
