<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording paper feeder capable of preventing a decrease in throughput when the amount of a recording paper sheet is decreased, and increasing the efficiency of parts replacement. <P>SOLUTION: The recording paper feeder comprises a plurality of cassette paper feed stages; a plurality of independent cassette paper feeding means for independently feeding the recording paper sheet from each of the plurality of cassette paper feed stages; a paper feed control means for controlling the plurality of cassette independent paper feed means; a paper feed instruction means for giving paper feed instructions to the paper feed control means; a feed control method indicating means for selecting the control method for the feed control means and indicating the selected control method to the control means; a feed instruction detecting means for detecting the number of paper feed instructions; and a feed instruction reporting means for reporting the number of paper feed instructions detected by the detecting means to the control means. The feeder also has a plurality of simultaneous cassette paper feed means for simultaneously feeding the paper sheet from two or more of the plurality of cassette paper feed stages in response to each one paper feed instruction given from the instruction means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
