METHOD FOR ASSIGNING SIP SERVER IP ADDRESS

PURPOSE: A method for assigning an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) server IP address is provided to inform a terminal that a proxy server IP address is usable through an ACK(Acknowledgement) signal from a PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node), thereby enabling the terminal to search an IP address of a proxy SIP server when located in an external network. CONSTITUTION: A UAC(User Agent Server)(210) using an SIP transmits an IPCP(Internet Protocol Control Protocol) request message by loading an IP address of a proxy SIP server(410). A PDSN(220) transmits an NAK(Negative Acknowledgement) signal to the UAC(210) by responding to the IPCP request message, and transmits IP addresses of a primary proxy SIP server and a secondary proxy SIP server(420). The UAC(210) selects one of the transmitted IP addresses(430). The UAC(210) retransmits an IPCP configure request message(440). The PDSN(220) transmits an IPCP ACK message, and permits usage of the IP address of the proxy SIP server(450).
