PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quicken the judgement of a reading action by an operator on a controller side by simultaneously displaying medical image data which is read at the same time in a same monitor screen on the controller side when a plurality of medical image reading devices are simultaneously made to perform a reading action, and to increase the operating efficiency of a medical image reading system. SOLUTION: A control unit 11 indicates the starting of a reading action simultaneously to respective readers 2, 3 and 4. When the reading action starting responses from respective readers 2, 3 and 4 are confirmed, a monitor screen 121 for which image display frames are set in response to respective readers 2, 3 and 4 is displayed on a display unit 13. When, e.g., respective medical image data being transmitted by the unit of packet are received from respective readers 2, 3 and 4 through a communication control unit 14, respective medical image data by the unit of packet are respectively converted into image display signals, and outputted in order to the display unit 13. Then, the medical image data being simultaneously transmitted from respective readers 2, 3 and 4 are simultaneously displayed in respective image display frames in the monitor screen 121.
