PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control method for a refrigerator for improving freshness of stored foods while maintaining performance and a lifetime of a compressor. SOLUTION: This operation control method for the refrigerator comprises a step of turning on the compressor when a temperature of a food storage room satisfies a high limit value of a bound temperature deviation widthΔT with reference to an optimum set temperature T, a step of turning off the compressor when the temperature of the food storage room satisfies a low limit of the bound temperature deviation widthΔT with reference to the optimum set temperature T, and a step of setting the bound temperature deviation widthΔT, which is varied so that the temperature of the food storage room ranges within the bound temperature deviation widthΔT fluctuating according to an outside air temperature with reference to the optimum set temperature T, in a microcomputer for controlling a turning on/off cycle of the compressor.
