PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treating agent for glass, facilitating wiping operation after coating without requiring the use of a wiping agent such as an alcohol for removing glaringness caused by irregular reflection from the surface of a glass base material after the coating, exhibiting excellent water repellent effects such as water repellency, weather resistance and durability over a long period, hardly allowing mineral deposits, oil components or the like to attach thereto after water repellent treatment, and giving no bad effects to the movement or the like of a wiper blade. SOLUTION: The surface treating agent for the glass is a solution obtained by dissolving 0.01-40 wt.% silane compound having a perfluoroalkyl group, 0.1-30 wt.% organopolysiloxane, 0.01-40 wt.% alkoxysilane compound and 0.1-10 wt.% acidic material in 50-99.3 wt.% volatile organic solvent.
