PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct drive motor having a thin structure in the axial direction with low noise/vibration, at low cost. SOLUTION: The direct drive motor comprises a rotor 1 provided with a magnet 2 and a stator 10 provided with a coil 4 in a radial gap 11. The magnet 2 is embedded in the iron core of the rotor 1. The coil 4 wound around one teeth 7 of the stator 10. The core has an open form, which is integrally manufactured. An opening distance is equal to a slot pitch width minus a teeth width, with a void 6 provided in the teeth 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
