PURPOSE: A method for recording music broadcasting audio data of a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to store audio data of high quality transmitted from a music broadcasting channels for a long time without video data. CONSTITUTION: A method for recording music broadcasting audio data of a digital broadcasting receiver includes the steps of setting a music broadcasting recording mode as electronic program guide information is recorded to a memory(S10,S11). A control part searches information on music broadcasting channels and broadcasting time of the channels in the electronic program guide information(S12). If the broadcasting time information of the searched music broadcasting channel information accords with the current time or is in a set allowable error time range, a series of channel selecting operation is carried out for the corresponding music broadcasting channel(S13). The video and audio data received via the automatically selected music broadcasting channel is recorded to a hard disc and an optical disc driver is driven(S14-S15). When a user request the finishing of the recording of the audio data(S17), the audio data recording is finished and other operation is carried out at the request of the user(S18). The optical disc driver records the audio data to an optical disc, wherein the audio data is separated from the video data by a demultiplexer and temporarily stored to an audio buffer before being recorded to the optical disc(S16).
