PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling record by subscription remote of digital TV are provided to realize reservation recording by appointing record of a wanted broadcast program on a network. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a server of the corresponding service to search for broadcasting data to be recorded and a currently connected system(S12). The user confirms an IP(Internet Protocol) of a communication unit to be downloaded, and transmits a check signal confirming a power-on state of the corresponding communication unit to the corresponding communication unit(S13-S14). It is judged whether the communication unit is in a power-on state(S15). If so, subscription broadcasting data are downloaded to a PVR(Personal Video Recorder) through the communication unit(S16). If not, a power-on signal is transmitted to the communication unit(S19).
