PURPOSE: To provide a rotary electric machine which can enhance the reliability of a mount. CONSTITUTION: In order to solve the above problem, a permanent magnet type synchronous rotating electric machine 2 has a stator with winding and a rotor 20 which is arranged rotatably via vacant space from the stator and is halved in the direction of a rotary shaft. After that, a position is set where the composite field value of the permanent magnets 21A and 21B is smaller than the specified value, in the case of switching the permanent magnet type synchronous rotary electric machine 2 from a motor to a generator, permanent magnets 21 different in polarity are arranged alternately, and the relative axial position of a second rotor 20B to a first rotor 20A is made a specified position where the composite field values of the permanent magnets 21A and 21B becomes a specified value after being made.
