PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel rubber modified polyamide which excels in solubility in and compatibility with many solvents, acrylics and epoxy monomers, oligomers, and other polymers without adversely affecting excellent heat resistance and the like which an aromatic polyamide inherently possesses, is flexible and has good moldability, and is useful in various fields. SOLUTION: The novel rubber modified polyamide has a segment having an alicyclic group in the structure to be represented by formula (A) (wherein R1 is a divalent alicyclic group; R2 is a divalent aromatic group; and x is an average polymerization degree and a positive number of 1-50) and an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer segment to be represented by formula (B) (wherein l, m, and n are each an average polymerization degree and l is a positive number of 1-7; m is a positive number of 1-7; and m is a positive number of 5-50). A method for manufacturing the rubber modified polyamide comprises obtaining the rubber modified polyamide with the use of a condensation agent under comparatively mild conditions.
