METHOD OF PROCESSING IMAGE DATA, IMAGE READER, POS TERMINAL, AND ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform processing even if a fault occurs in a storage memory 85 in an image reader 140.

SOLUTION: Image data are read with the image reader 140 (14), and are stored in the storage memory 85 in the image reader. At the same time, the image reader 140 transmits storage result reporting information about the storage result to a terminal computer 30. The computer 30 decides a method of processing the image data on the basis of the obtained storage result reporting information. The image reader 140 processes the image data according to the processing method which is decided by the computer 30.
