It is described an apparatus and method for the monitoring of the flow of a given material into a tank. <??>This method is based on the frequency analysis of the acoustic noise generated by the pouring of the material into the tank and collected by acoustic sensors. This method gives indications about the presence of the flow and about the quantity of material that has been poured into the tank. <IMAGE>
