The jet-borne aircraft has engines which deliver air into a common receiver (6) which have controllable and non-controllable nozzles which create a lift and control force. One or more fans which are installed on the receiver are used as a propulsion system, whereby the drive of the fans can be effected both from a central power plant and also from several small power units with a direct drive of the individual fans. One or more turbofans may be used as a propulsion system.
