PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron including a pair of body cases rotatably pivoted, a heating plate 2 recessed and provided on the opposite inner surfaces 10 of the body cases 1, in which a material to be treated is held between the opposite inner surfaces 10 to be heated and pressed, enabling stable and smooth adjustment for an angle of inclination of the heating plate 2 to give good feeling in use. SOLUTION: An angle adjusting means 4 is an elastic member provided to support the end of the rotating shaft side of the heating plate 2, either the heating plate 2 or the body case 1 is provided with a buffer member 3 for braking recessing operation of the heating plate 2.
