PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress or eliminate a phenomenon of considerable loosening of an adhesive tape let out from an adhesive tape reel and thereby to avoid it becoming impossible to let out the adhesive tape. SOLUTION: A veneer joining mechanism is equipped with the adhesive tape reel SR prepared by winding on the outer periphery of a core tube 1 the continuous adhesive tape S which is to be adhered in a crossing state to the end edge Te of veneer T being parallel to the direction of fibers thereof and to be cut short every time when it is used, and joining equipment of veneer is so constituted that the veneer joining mechanism repeats forward-backward movement frequently. The adhesive tape reel SR is supported at two support positions (c) and (d), i.e., the support position c located in the quarter area on the lower side in the direction of letting-out of the adhesive tape S in the inner-peripheral supper part of the core tube 1 and the support position (d) located in the upper quarter area on the other side. On the occasion, the support position (c) on the lower side in the direction of letting-out of the tape S is set to be lower than the support position (d) on the other side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
