Described are combinations of cardiovascular therapeutic compounds for the prophylaxis or treatment of cardiovascular disease including hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, or hyperlipidemia. The combinations disclosed include an ileal bile acid transport inhibitor combined with a cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) inhibitor.
