An image signal cancel type heterodyne reception method modulates an intermediate frequency signal of the I phase and Q phase with two orthogonal signals, superimposes the two signals, amplitudes them in one amplifier, and after this, modulates them with two modulated orthogonal signals, thereby amplifying the I phase signal and Q phase signal in one amplifier. Accordingly, there is no gain shift between the two phases and it is possible to obtain a high image removal ratio. Moreover, a direct conversion orthogonal frequency division multiplex reception method amplifies two base band signals by one amplifier, so as to eliminate a gain difference in the base band amplification between the two phases, thereby realizing a high non-interference performance between sub-carriers.
