PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent variation in the relative position of a fixed blade and a movable blade in a printer where the movable blade of a guillotine cutter is fixed to a movable blade supporting member secured to the housing body and the fixed blade is fixed to the housing cover part movable with respect to the housing body. SOLUTION: The root part of the movable blade (15) moves above the bottom wall (12) of the movable blade supporting member (10) while keeping a constant distance therefrom. The bottom wall has a stopper (12a) projecting to the fixed blade side at an end part in the widthwise direction thereof, and a protrusion (5a) provided at an end part in the widthwise direction of the fixed blade (5) is mounted thereon thus setting a constant relative position of the fixed blade and the movable blade. Since a slight clearance is present between an intermediate gear (22) and the gear (9) of a platen (7), height position of the housing cover part 2 is regulated by these gears and the protrusion (5a) of the fixed blade (5) is prevented from floating without abutting against the stopper (12a).
