PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition coating method which enables resource conservation and cost reduction by shortening the cooling time after baking- drying, decreasing the apparatus area, and effectively utilizing water warmed upon cooling and which is excellent in working efficiency and work environment. SOLUTION: This electrodeposition coating method includes a pretreatment step for forming a chemical conversion coating on an object to be coated, an electrodeposition coating step for electrodeposition-coating the object having the chemical conversion coating formed thereon at the pretreatment step, and a baking step for baking-drying the object electrodeposition-coated at the electrodeposition coating step. The method further includes a cooling step for cooling, with ion-exchanged water, the object baked and dried at the baking step. After used for cooling the object, the ion-exchanged water is used in the pretreatment step. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
