Propylene based resin composition, useful for production of packaging films for foodstuffs and clothing, especially foodstuffs, includes copolymer components and a crystalline olefin based polymer

A propylene based resin composition (X) including copolymer components (A), (B), and (Y) obtained from propylene, an alpha-olefin and a crystalline olefin based polymer (Z). A propylene based resin composition including (wt.%) a propylene based copolymer (X)(10-99) comprising a copolymer component: (1) (A)(1-30), a copolymer prepared from propylene and at least 4C alpha-olefin, fulfilling condition 1 below, or is a copolymer component prepared from propylene, and at least 4C alpha-olefin and ethylene, which fulfills conditions 1 and 2 below; (2) (B)(70-99), which is a copolymer component prepared from propylene and an at least 4C alpha-olefin which fulfills condition 3 below, or is a copolymer component prepared from propylene, and at least 4C alpha-olefin and ethylene, which fulfills conditions 4 below, copolymer (X) fulfills condition 5 below; (3) a propylene based copolymer (Y) obtained from propylene and an alpha-olefin and/or ethylene, where copolymer (Y) contains propylene (86-97) and a combined content of ethylene and alpha-olefin of 3-14 wt.%; and (4) a crystalline olefin based polymer Z having melting point 115degreesC or less, with the proviso that each of the percentage amount of components (A) and (B) are based on the amount of component (X), and the sum of the percentage amounts of components (A) and (B) = 100%, the percentage amounts of copolymers (X), (Y), and (Z) are based on the combined amounts of copolymers (X), (Y), and polymer (Z), and the propylene content of copolymer (Y) and the combined contents of ethylene and alpha-olefin in copolymer (Y) are based on the combined amounts of propylene, ethylene, and alpha-olefin in copolymer (Y). The conditions are: (1) Condition 1: The content of alpha-olefin with 4 or more C is not less than 1 mole% but is less than 10 mole%; (2) Condition 2: The ethylene content of the component does note exceed 5 mole%; (3) Condition 3: The content of alpha-olefin with more than 4C is 15-30 mole%; (4) Condition 4: The ethylene content of the component exceeds 5 mole%; (5) Condition 5: According to DSC plots the percentage heat absorption over the temperature range T of -10 to +10 degreesC is 15-36% of the heat absorption over the temperature range 53-170 degreesC, where the temperature T = endothermic peak maximum. An Independent claim is included for a film obtained from the composition.
