<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of highly efficiently implementing capturing, removing, thickening, and recovering of metals from water to be treated, such as drinking water, waste water and sewage, to provide a method capable of industrially clarifying a large volume of the water to be treated and of industrially implementing regenerating and recycling of the thickened and recovered metals and simultaneously to provide a so-called 'zero emission' process which permits regenerating and recycling of chelate magnetic material particles themselves, is little in the burden on the environments and does not produce wastes. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating the water comprises adding magnetic material particles for metal recovery having organic compound layers possessing a chelate forming group with a metal and other organic compound layers possessing other chelate forming group with a metal are added into the water to be treated, then magnetically separating the magnetic material particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
