<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an image processor becomes inactive and a fatal fault results when specific information such as a serial number for each image processor stored in a nonvolatile memory is erased by the exhaustion of a backup power source of the nonvolatile memory. <P>SOLUTION: Specific information data containing error detection information are stored in a first nonvolatile memory are which does not require the backup power source and when turning on a power source, the specific information data are copied in a second nonvolatile memory are inside the image processor. When an error is detected in the specific information data in the first nonvolatile memory area, the specific information data in the second nonvolatile memory area are validated.
