PURPOSE: A method for controlling carrier frequency of inverter air conditioner is provided to efficiently control operation by variably controlling carrier frequency according to loading capacity. CONSTITUTION: A method includes three steps. The first step(110,120,130) is to determine load according to driving of a product based on temperature of a heat sink, consumed energy and temperature of an outdoor piping. The second step(140,150) is to adjust carrier frequency into low frequency when the load is higher and high frequency when the load is lower. The third step is to drive a power element by the adjusted carrier frequency. Size of the heat sink is reduced thereby.
