FIELD: electrical engineering; electric welding. SUBSTANCE: stator slots of welding generator accommodate field winding and running winding. Induction generator has squirrel-cage rotor of standard design. Connected to field winding terminals are field capacitors. Delta-connected compounding capacitors are connected to running-winding terminals. Shorting capacitors and rectifier are connected to running winding terminals; welding electrode is connected to rectifier.
