PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder which restricts to a minimum an amount of ink remaining inside a cap, on a discharge opening face and the like by efficiently sucking and removing the remaining ink at an idle suction time for the inside of the cap, and can accordingly maintain a stable ink discharge performance at all times. SOLUTION: At a time of opening the cap carried out with the cap 308 separated from the discharge opening face 88 of a recording head 100 at least after a suction recovery process, a part opposite to a suction port 382 of the cap is separated slantwise in a posture in which the part is inclined to the discharge opening face.
