The auxiliary heater (10) has a flat heat radiation arrangement (26) for mounting on the wall of the vehicle compartment (12) and in the form of a flat heat conducting element (30) with at least one heat pipe (34,26,38,40) running along its surface and that is thermally coupled to the flat element. An Independent claim is also included for a vehicle with the above auxiliary heating device.
