PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user needs to repeatedly listen only neces sary information but sometimes it has been difficult in a text read-aloud system such as a mail read-aloud system and a sightseeing guide system. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a question answer information generating means of generating question and answer information from meaning information obtained by a language analyzing means, a question and answer information storage means of holding the obtained question and answer information, a question retrieving means of making a question inputted in voice by the user correspond to one piece of question and answer information stored in the question and answer information storage means, and an answer generating means of generating a document to be read aloud according to the retrieved question and answer information; and the user performs voice input in the form of a question for a text to which additional information is not given and then only desired information to be listened repeatedly can be read aloud.
