<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for providing equipment using a liquid crystal display, with a completely bright screen and minimizing working power by solving an unsolved difficult problem for researchers who have been demanded by many makers on the improvement of an ultraviolet emitter of a back light of the liquid crystal display used for conventional electronic equipment such as a television, a personal computer and a cellphone, wherein many screens are rather dark without sufficient luminosity due to the shortage of a conversion ratio of a filled gaseous substance into visible light, and a gas seal part of the ultraviolet arc tube, which is not luminous in conventional technology, existed as much as 20-30% around the screen particularly in a small or medium display. <P>SOLUTION: The kind of gas filled in the ultraviolet arc tube is quite originally developed, and a progressive manufacturing method is developed to allow the whole arc tube to emit light by providing an electrode of the ultraviolet arc tube 1 outside the tube, and applying phosphor paint to the outside of the tube, particularly the whole outside including a seal part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
