<p>Server access is provided to a wireless apparatus (110) via a wireless network (120). A message (122) is received containing a service request (124). The service and server (150) capable of servicing the service request (124) is determined. The service is requested from the server (150) and a reply is received. The reply is formatted for communication over the wireless network (120) and sent. Location dependent information may also be requested with a wireless apparatus (110) including a global positioning device (112) and a two-way wireless communication device (114). Such an apparatus (110) can 'know' its global location and therefore can request information dependent on that location. The apparatus (110) receives signals from a global positioning system and calculates a location (126). The calculated location (126) is included in the service request (124) sent over the wireless network (120).</p> |
