The strut has a piston rod (4) carrying a damping piston (5) oscillating in a housing (1). The outer end (20) of the rod is fixed to the vehicle structure. The piston rod is radially guided by two bearings spaced out from each other. The damping pistons forms two part cavities (9, 10) for the transmission of power from the piston rod to the strut housing.
