PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read data of liquid color only by immersing the measurement part of a measuring device into a liquid. SOLUTION: A light ray passing window 4 is formed in a base body case 7. A reflecting plate 5 is disposed outside the body case 7 in the state of having a liquid-filled space 6. A detection part 3 in the body case 7 is made to face the reflecting plate 5 outside the body case 7 by interlaying the passing window 4. When the measurement part 2 (the passing window 4 and the reflecting plate 5) of the measuring device 1 is immersed into the liquid for measuring its color name by providing the detection part 3 with a white light source for irradiating the reflecting plate 5 with white light through the passing window 4 and a light receiving element for three primary colors for receiving the reflected light from the reflecting plate 5, the emitted white light is radiated outward by passing the passing window 4, and passes the liquid run into and filled in the liquid-filled space 6. The reflected light from the reflecting plate 5 passes the liquid in the liquid-filled space 6 again and the detection part 3 measures the reflected light (RGB three kinds) having passed the liquid.
