PURPOSE: A functional construction composition and functional mortar, artificial slate and construction material prepared from the composition are provided, wherein the composition has far infrared ray radiating, electromagnetic wave screening, deodorizing, heat storing, antibacterial and antifungicidal effects. CONSTITUTION: The functional construction composition comprises 40-65 parts by weight of silica; 20-70 parts by weight of graphite; 20-40 parts by weight of sericite; 0.01-3 parts by weight of alkylbenzyldimethyl ammonium chloride; and optionally 16.7-27.1 parts by weight of cement. Preferably the artificial slate is prepared by mixing the composition and a flame retardant resin.
