PURPOSE: A wear warning apparatus for a brake pad is provided to check the wear state of the brake pad conveniently by streaming current through a conductive layer normally and operating a warning lamp and a warning controller at wear with forming the conductive layer in the friction material of the brake pad. CONSTITUTION: A wear warning device of a brake pad is composed of a resistor distributing current by operating an ignition switch(10); a friction material(41) penetrating a long and thin conductive layer(43) from an upper part of a back plate(42) to a lower part of the back plate to transmit current from the resistor to the brake pad; a transistor warning the brake pad in removing the conductive layer at wear of current of the resistor by connecting to a resistor, a zener diode and a condenser, and switching on and off by inputting output signals of a warning lamp turned on by current from the zener diode and the ignition switch; and a warning control unit(20) operating a warning controller(30) in switching on and off the transistor. The wear of the brake pad is detected easily by streaming current through the conductive layer normally and by operating the warning lamp at wear.
