PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freeze prevention heating element capable of detachment freely mounting on various outer surfaces of an existing drainpipe requiring freeze prevention, disusing a temperature sensor, a thermostat, and a heat insulation tape. SOLUTION: The heating element is formed into box-shape having flange parts 23 at surrounding peripheral parts and opened downwards. A heat insulation material 3 and a heating element 6 is housed in a space formed by an outer cover part 2 of which, an upper part 21 and side parts 22 are formed into bellows-shape, and a soaking plate 5. The whole peripheral part where, the flange parts 23 and the soaking plate 5 are jointed, is covered by soft resin. The heating element 6 with positive temperature coefficient formed into flat shape has self-temperature controlling function. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
