PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce driving energy necessary for an actuator driving an operating piston, to miniaturize a driving device, and to reduce the cost of a fuel injection valve wherein a control valve is driven by the operating piston to be opened and closed. SOLUTION: The operating piston 17 is driven by a piezoactuator 14 through a large piston 15 and a pump chamber 16 to press down a valve element 52 of the control valve 5 and to open a drain port 21 of low pressure. Since an upper end of the drain port 21 is provided with a taper part 21a where an area of a passage is suddenly enlarged, the energy of the jet flow injected to a spill chamber 22 is largely lowered, and the operating force in the direction to inhibit the motion of the operating piston 17 (upward direction) can be reduced.
