Capacity planning method for use with a system provider (2), one or more deliverer systems (3), a central unit (1) and communications connections (4). The method involves definition of a number of properties and capacity units. Parts are assigned to capacity families and part groups. Part groups are assigned to first and second requirements. The invention also relates to a corresponding capacity planning system.
