PURPOSE: A hydraulic brake and an exercise equipment using the same are provided to prevent a risk of an accident or a damage from a shock when a person suddenly stops an exercise. CONSTITUTION: An oil tank(31) stores and circulates a circulation oil. A hydraulic pump has a suction port(24A) receiving the circulation oil by the rotation of a rotor(22,23) and a discharge port(24B) discharging the circulation oil to the oil tank, with the rotor rotating according to a momentum applied through a rotary axis(15). A self-directional change valve(35) changes over between the suction port and the discharge port by the forward or reverse rotation of the rotor.
