TREATING METHOD FOR EXHAUST AIR FROM WET COG DESULFURIZATION OXIDATION COLUMN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for exhaust air from a wet COG (coke oven gas) desulfurization oxidation column whereby exhaust air from a desulfurization oxidation column can be safely handled. SOLUTION: In returning exhaust air from a desulfurization oxidation column 103 to a combustion treatment and/or a COG main pipe 107, the exhaust air is made inexplosive and safely handleable by diluting with an inert gas supplied from a pipeline 119. The amount of the inert gas blown into for making the exhaust air inexplosive is controlled by monitoring the oxygen concentration of the exhaust air and the concentration of combustible components and/or the amount of the inert gas blown into is controlled according to the amount of air blown into for oxidation by preliminarily measuring and analyzing the relation between the amount of air blown into for oxidation and the composition of the exhaust air.
