PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather device for a four-cycle engine capable of separating an oil component from a blowby gas with a simple structure. SOLUTION: An engine starting device 87 is provided with a kick idle gear 90 for transmitting the pedalling force of a rider to a crankshaft 42 via a clutch body 55. A hollow kick idle shaft 94 rotatably and integrally supports the kick idle gear 90 at its one end. The shaft 94 is arranged in such a way that at least a part thereof is overlapped with the clutch body 55 in a side view in the rear of and above a countershaft 51 in a mission chamber 40. Further, a breather passage 96 is formed in the kick idle shaft 94, and a blowby gas intake port 103 and discharge port 97 are disposed at the end of the gear 90 side of breather passage 96 and that of the opposite side thereof, respectively.
