PURPOSE: Provided are an electrode active material for lithium secondary battery which improves charge/discharge, life, and high efficiency properties, and inhibits a gas generation inside of the battery, a method for producing the same, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. CONSTITUTION: The electrode active material for lithium secondary battery comprises, in addition to electrode active material, an amphoteric compound, alkali metal sulfide or oxide. The electrode is anode or cathode. The electrode active material is produced by the method comprising the steps of (i) adding an electrode active material to solution comprising a material selected from amphoteric compound, alkali metal oxide and sulfide, and uniformly dispersing the electrode active material in the solution, and (ii) removing a solvent by filtration and drying.
