PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbo shaft engine of good thermal efficiency. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the turbo shaft engine supplying compressed air A2 from a compressor 11 to a combustor 12 for burning fuel and driving a compressor drive turbine 13 connected to the compressor 11 and a power turbine 14 connected to an output shaft 15 with combustion gas A3. The power turbine 14, the compressor driving turbine 13 and the combustor 12 are provided in a back stage of the compressor 11 in order from a front. A compressed air passage 21 guiding compressed air discharged from the compressor 11 to the combustor 12 is coaxially provided on an outside of the cylindrical casing 16 storing the turbines 14, 13 and the combustor 12.
