PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of Mo-containing ferritic stainless steel which may include Ni of 0.1-0.6% as a trace component, so that the steel with a higher Ni content has an inferior pickling property and gives the improper surface such as exhibiting unremoved mill scale and blueing, and that the steel with a lower Ni content has an aggravated luster though not occurring unremoval of mill-scale, and blueing. SOLUTION: This method includes adjusting concentration of fluoric acid in nitric fluoric acid in a pickling process, to a range enclosed in curves AB and CD as shown in the Fig. 1, according to Ni concentration in the Mo- containing ferritic stainless steel, to manufacturing a product with excellent luster.
