DRIVER CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver circuit which can reduce the power consumption, enables high-speed plotting and has a display memory that does not require memory mapping and to provide a display device using the driver circuit. SOLUTION: The driver circuit is provided with a line latch for storing a one-line portion of picture data of a picture and a driving means for writing data supplied from a control means with one line as a unit into the display memory through the line latch and reading out picture data from the display memory to output it to the control means. The driving means stores each pixel data out of the one-line portion of pixel data held in the line latch in the display memory as pixel data for driving a corresponding pixel out of one corresponding line of a matrix pixel arrangement. Write control data which designates pixel data to be written in the display memory is stored in the line latch by pixels, and the driving means writes pixel data designated by the write control data in the display memory.
