PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system of high efficiency, free from drop of the output even when the operation and stop of the fuel cell are repeated for a long period. SOLUTION: This fuel cell system comprises a fuel cell stack 1 having a fuel chamber 22b for supplying a hydrogen gas to a hydrogen pole 24, and an oxygen chamber 23b for supplying air to an oxygen pole 25. This system comprises gas supply ports 22e, 22f for supplying a hydrogen gas to the fuel chamber 22b, gas discharge ports 22g, 22h for discharging the hydrogen gas from the fuel chamber 22b, hydrogen suction pumps 82 and the like for sucking the hydrogen gas from the gas discharge ports 22g, 22h, hydrogen circulating pipes H4 and the like for connecting the gas discharge ports 22g, 22h and the gas supply ports 22e, 22f through the hydrogen suction pumps 82 and the like, and first hydrogen releasing pipes H5 and the like for connecting the gas discharge ports 22g, 22h and an external gas release port H5 through the hydrogen suction pumps 82 and the like. |
