A laminate(1a)for the formation of a capacitor layer,characterized in that it has a three layer structure of aluminum layer(2)/modified alumina barrier layer(3)/electrode copper layer(4),wherein said modified alumina barrier layer(3)is prepared by subjecting one surface of an aluminum plate or foil to an anode treatment,to form an alumina barrier layer,which is a uniform oxidized layer,and subjecting the resultant aluminum material having the alumina barrier layer to a boiling treatment in water,and said modified alumina barrier layer(3)is used as a dielectric layer;and an inner layer core material or the like using the laminate.The laminate(1a)can be used for forming a capacitor layer for a printed wiring board which is capable of securing a great electric capacity.
