The present invention relates to a process for dehydrating naturally occurring organic materials which contain a biologically active component, and in particular proteins, which does not change the original structure of the active component, by drying such material in particulate form in the presence of an antimicrobial agent and preferably an ionizable salt at temperatures at or below which denaturization occurs until the water content of the material is reduced to less than 15%. |
