870,768. Two-part couplings combined with switches. SOC. ETABLISSEMENTS GERARD MANG. Feb. 26, 1959, No. 6754/59. Class 38 (1). The case of a wiring outlet comprises a base 1 with a cover 2 and contains a disc-shaped bimetallic cut-out element 10 through which the current is caused to flow. The element carries a movable contact 8 coacting with a fixed contact 9 connected to a socket contact 5b by a metal strip 4b. The centre portion of the element 10 is connected to a terminal 3b, and a second terminal 3a is connected to a socket contact 5a. When an overload current flows through the element 10, the contact 8 is moved clear of the fixed contact 9. As the element is of the non-thermostatic type it does not resume its initial position on cooling. To reset the element, a forked plate 12 pivoted at 13 is pressed against it by means of a slide 15, and the curvature of the disc reversed; it is necessary to remove the plug from the outlet to enable the slide to be moved to its "reset" position. A screw 22 permits adjustment of the position of the contact 9. |
