PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive/deliver a web at a predetermined position without damaging a core tube supporting the web and generating uncomfortable metallic noises. SOLUTION: This cargo handling device comprises a pair of right and left arms 4 erected at both ends of a truck 3, where the core tube 10 protruded from both end faces of the web Sa is chucked at its right and left sides, bridged between both arms 4 and then released from chucking after the web Sa is placed on the truck 3. The truck 3 is provided with a guide mechanism 15 for supporting the arms 4 to be movable in a certain range along the cross directions b, c and a locking mechanism 16 for locking the arms 4 to the truck 3.
