PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for light wavelength conversion, which can efficiency obtain a 2nd higher harmonic with high power and a laser oscillation system. SOLUTION: The light wavelength converting method which generates the 2nd higher harmonic of a fundamental wave having a specific wavelengthλand time pulse width by making the fundamental wave incident on 1st crystal 23 and 2nd crystal 24 in order, is characterized in that the 1st crystal 23 has a larger bulk damage threshold to the fundamental wave than the 2nd crystal 24, and the 2nd crystal has a larger effective nonlinear constant to the fundamental wave than the 1st crystal.
